Well, I'm in LA at the moment and one of the best matchups of the season happens tonight where the best team in the East, the Ottawa Senators play the Vancouver Canucks at the Garage (Nickname for General Motors Place in Vancouver B.C.). This could very well be a matchup of the Stanley Cup finals in June (If Bertuzzi starts banging and punishing again) and promises to be a great game if both teams show up to play.

In their first game against an Eastern Conference opponent, the Vancouver Canucks defeated the Boston Bruins by a score of 5 to 2. Trevor Linden opened scoring at 4:06 in the first. The twins combined for the next goal when, at 14:03, Daniel Sedin notched his seventh goal of the season. Boston responded in the second with goals by Brad Isbister and Marco Sturm to even the score. Brendan Morrison scored what would end up being the game winning goal at 4:33 in the third. Ryan Kesler and Daniel Sedin scored the additional goals for the Canucks. Jozef Balej, who was called up from Manitoba on game day, scored his first point as a Vancouver Canuck with an assist on Kesler's goal. CANUCKS 3 AT OILERS 5
Vancouver posted a 5-3 loss in Edmonton on Thursday night in the two team's second meeting of the season. Josh Green opened scoring 18 seconds into the first period followed by goals from Daniel Sedin in the second and Anson Carter in the third period. Mattias Ohlund recorded an assist on each of the three Vancouver goals. Goaltender Rob McVicar played in his first ever NHL game after replacing Alex Auld late in the third period. Tonight's game is the only match-up between Vancouver and Ottawa in the 2005-06 regular season. Vancouver is currently in second place in the Northwest Division; Ottawa leads the Northeast Division.
